Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

  1. A system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body.
  2. The scientific study of reflex action as it affects behavior.

What does it feel like?

Similar to general massage this technique is done using the therapist's hands, mostly the thumb. Used to do gliding, circular and sustained pressure in order to address areas of tension/congestion in the hand or foot area. Doing so will not only help the local area that is getting massage but the body system connected to that nerve congestion/meridian (energy system).

Treatment Options

Yes, reflexology can be a treatment in itself or added to a normal massage! The great thing about reflexology is it can be done all on its own to treat many issues. A stand alone reflexology session could reduce pain and stress throughout the whole body. And you can receive this treatment without the need to take your clothes off, allowing this to be a great short treatment for a busy day or for someone that is not comfortable taking off their clothes or having their body touched.
